St. Tammany School System names bevy of new administrators (2024)

Six new principals and seven new assistant principals were announced at St. Tammany Parish School Board meetings held June 6 and June 13.

Friends and family members of the appointees filled nearly every seat at the meetings, both held at the Schoen Administrative Complex in Covington.

Superintendent Frank Jabbia introduced the appointees, and each gave a short speech. Those named to new administrative roles on June 6 include:

•Jennifer Clark, principal of Boyet Junior High School. She had been the acting principal since September 2023. Clark has been an educator for 26 years, having taught English, art and speech. Clark plans to receive her Ph.D in educational leadership in May 2025.

• LaRobyn Houston, principal of Covington Elementary. Formerly the assistant principal of Magnolia Trace Elementary, Houston has been an educator since 2003. She received the Bogalusa City School District Principal of the Year Award in 2019.

• Stephanie Alexius, named principal of Folsom Elementary. Alexius had been acting principal of Lyon Elementary since July 2023. Alexius received her master's degree from Southeastern in 2004, and she’s been in the local school system for nearly 20 years.

• Kenita Nicoulin, principal of Folsom Junior High School. She has been assistant principal there since 2018. Nicoulin received her master's from Southeastern in 2015, graduating summa cum laude. In 2013, she received the Teacher of the Year Award at Franklinton High School.

• Lauryn Faciane, principal of Lyon Elementary. Faciane has been acting principal at the Covington-based school since July 2023. She began her education career in 2007 at Abney Elementary in Slidell and received a master's degree from Southeastern in 2016.

• Jessica Venezia, assistant principal at Covington High. She served as acting AP at the school since last September. Venezia received her master's degree from Southeastern in 2009, and has been employed by the local school district for 18 years.

• Paige Butler, assistant principal at Mandeville High. Butler taught at Mandeville for eight years and has worked in St. Tammany schools since 2013.

• Kristin Carbo, assistant principal of Slidell High School. Carbo received her master's degree in special education from the University of New Orleans in 2014. She began her 24-year education career in 2000 as an adapted physical education teacher.

Five more appointees were announced at the School Board’s full meeting on June 13. They are:

• Natalie Bostic, assistant principal at Covington Elementary. An educator of 24 years, she began teaching fifth-grade language arts in 2000. She received a master's degree from Southeastern in 2010 and has taught at four different schools across Louisiana.

• Amanda Keller, principal at Mandeville Middle. Keller previously served as Mandeville Middle’s AP beginning in July 2023. She has taught at three elementary schools and one middle school, all in St. Tammany Parish. She received a master's degree from LSU in 1998.

• Chad Goulas, assistant principal at Slidell High. Goulas has 23 years of experience as an educational instructor and formerly served as the director of girls' athletics at Slidell High School. He also coached baseball at Slidell, taught four classes and was an administrative assistant, with a focus on discipline.

• William C. Ball, assistant principal at Lakeshore High. Bell, who has 13 years’ experience working in education, began his career as an alternative history and science teacher in Virginia. Since 2022, he’s served as the dean of students and principal designee in Rappahannock County, Virginia.

• Jamie Mills, assistant principal at Lyon Elementary Mills, earned a master's degree in education, with a focus on reading and literacy. Mills formerly served as principal of Loranger Elementary School and as an assistant principal of Midway Elementary School and Champ Cooper School, all in Tangipahoa Parish.
