The problem is that only physical copies are taken into account on these resources, but online sales are being taken into account. In addition, Vgchartz does not share compatibility games with operating systems - Windows, Mac and Linux. Sometimes it is impossible to find differences between sales for PCs and gaming consoles, since publishers provide incomplete information.
In general, in order to create the most accurate rating, we investigated various publications and charts, discussing the cultural impact of a particular game. That is why we did not call this article just the rating of bestsellers (by sales volumes) and prepared a list of the most popular alphabetical games, so that it looks like the least subjectively.
We also decided to write about one game from the franchise, so as not to clutter them the rating and consider as many different games as possible. For example, we did not include in the rating The Sims.Since The Sims 2 implemented much more copies.
